You Don't Need To Have Everything Figured Out Before We Meet.
One of the most common things people tell me before we talk is...
"I'm not even sure what questions to ask."
Please don't let that stop you.
You don't need to understand the science.
You don't need to know the medical terminology.
You don't need every report perfectly organized.
You don't need to have all the answers.
You simply need somewhere to begin.
We'll figure out the
rest together.
There is no such thing as a silly question when you're trying to make the best decisions you can for yourself or someone you love.
If you're wondering about it, it's a question worth asking.
Imagine Walking Into Your Next Appointment Feeling...
That is my goal for every person I meet.
Not to make decisions for you.
But to help you feel informed,
prepared, and confident making them.
"Coming for my conversation with Michelle was pivotal. I left feeling so much more informed and confident. It changed the way I understood what was happening and helped me prepare for the conversations that followed. I'm so glad I reached out."
This Is More Than A Conversation.
Every person who comes to me brings a different story.
Different experiences. Different fears. Different questions.
That's why every conversation is different.
Sometimes we spend most of our time preparing for an important appointment.
Sometimes we explore molecular testing, biomarkers, precision medicine, or emerging research from an educational perspective.
Sometimes we focus on understanding the healthcare system itself—why things happen the way they do, what options may exist, and how to have more productive conversations with your healthcare team.
Sometimes people simply need someone to help organize their thoughts after weeks or months of trying to make sense of everything on their own.
No matter where we begin, my goal is always the same:
To help you leave feeling more informed…
More confident…
And better prepared for the conversations ahead.
Is This Conversation Right for You?
You don't need to know all the right questions before we meet.
You don't need to have every report organized.
You don't need to understand the science.
And you certainly don't need to be "the perfect client."
If you're feeling overwhelmed…
If you're trying to make sense of difficult information…
If you'd simply like someone to help you think through your next steps…
There's a good chance this conversation will be valuable.
If you're still unsure, that's okay too. Take a few minutes to read the Frequently Asked Questions below, or send us an email. We're always happy to help you decide whether this conversation is the right fit before you book.
During Our Conversation We May…
- Organize your thoughts before an important appointment.
- Identify the questions that matter most.
- Explore credible healthcare information together.
- Discuss publicly available information about molecular testing, biomarkers, precision medicine, clinical trials, or emerging research.
- Talk about how to evaluate evidence and distinguish reliable information from opinion or marketing.
- Develop practical strategies for communicating effectively with your healthcare team.
- Identify educational resources that may help you continue learning after our conversation.
Every conversation is tailored to your questions, your priorities, and where you are in your journey.
There is no script. No agenda to sell.
Just a thoughtful conversation focused entirely on helping you
move forward.
We'll Explore It Together
One of my favourite parts of these conversations isn't talking. It's exploring.
Rather than simply telling you where I found something… I'll often share my screen and show you. Together we may explore:
As we do, I'll explain how I evaluate information, why some evidence is stronger than others, and how I think through new research as it emerges.
My goal isn't simply to answer today's questions. It's to help you leave with the confidence to continue asking good questions long after our conversation has ended.
Because confidence doesn't come from having all the answers.
It comes from understanding how to
find them.
"I can't thank Michelle enough for making time to speak with me when I needed it most. After our conversation, I felt much more confident about the questions I needed to ask and the conversations I needed to have. I'm so glad I reached out."
Why I Am So Passionate About This Work
This work didn't begin as a career. It began with someone I loved.
When my Uncle Tom was diagnosed with cancer, I believed what many people believe—that when an important new test or treatment becomes available, the people who need it will naturally hear about it.
I discovered that healthcare is often far more complicated than that.
As I tried to help my family navigate difficult decisions, I realized that people and their families are often expected to make life-changing choices while feeling overwhelmed, under enormous emotional stress, and without fully understanding what questions to ask or where to find trustworthy information.
That experience changed the direction of my life.
Over the past fifteen years, I've dedicated myself to learning, asking questions, building relationships, and helping people feel more informed, more prepared, and more confident participating in conversations about their care.
Because I know what it feels like to want to do everything possible for someone you love.
And
I know how much difference one good conversation can make.
Why Work With Michelle?
Michelle Morand, MA, RCC · Co-founder, Cancer: Just The Facts
For more than thirty-five years, my work has focused on helping people navigate uncertainty.
The first part of my career was spent helping individuals and families navigate addiction, trauma, and some of life's most difficult decisions.
Fifteen years ago, my own family's experience with cancer changed the direction of my life.
Like many people, I assumed that when an important new test or treatment became available, clients who could benefit from it would naturally hear about it. I was surprised to discover that healthcare is often far more complicated than that.
That experience led me into fifteen years of learning, asking questions, building relationships, and working alongside people facing a cancer diagnosis, researchers, physicians, scientists, healthcare innovators, and advocacy organizations from around the world.
Today I bring those experiences together to help people better understand an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.
Not by telling them what to think.
But by helping them think
more clearly.
"Michelle is an incredible educator, guide, and companion during one of the most difficult times in life. She has a remarkable ability to explain complex information in a way that helps you feel calmer, more confident, and better prepared. I always felt someone had my back."
What You Can Expect From Me
You can expect thoughtful preparation.
You can expect honesty.
You can expect curiosity.
You can expect compassion.
You can expect someone who respects the important role your healthcare professionals play while also helping you become a more informed participant in your own care.
You can expect me to tell you when I don't know something.
You can expect me to help you distinguish evidence from opinion whenever possible.
Most importantly…
You can expect a conversation focused entirely on helping you move forward with greater confidence.
You Don't Just Benefit From My Experience.
Over the past fifteen years I've had the privilege of learning from people facing a cancer diagnosis, physicians, researchers, scientists, healthcare innovators and advocacy organizations around the world.
Those experiences continue to shape the way I think, the questions I ask, and the way I help people navigate healthcare today.
Those relationships have given me the opportunity to learn from many different perspectives and to better understand how cancer care is approached across different healthcare systems.
No one person has all the answers. And I don't believe they should.
When it's appropriate, I'm happy to point you toward trusted educational resources, organizations, research groups, or professionals who may be able to provide additional information or expertise related to your questions.
Sometimes the most valuable thing I can do isn't answer another question. It's helping you discover where the next answer may be found.
Because my goal has never been to become the centre of your
healthcare journey.
My goal has always been to help you build the knowledge, confidence, and
support network you need to move forward.
Four Things That Guide Every Conversation
Education Before Opinion
Helping you understand the evidence before drawing conclusions.
Questions Before Answers
Helping you discover the questions that matter most.
Collaboration Before Conflict
Supporting respectful, productive conversations with your healthcare team.
Confidence Before Complexity
Helping you feel calmer, clearer, and more prepared as you move forward.
Here's What Happens Next
People often ask me, "How should I prepare?" The answer is simple. You don't need to. That's my job. My goal is to make this process feel calm, straightforward, and reassuring from beginning to end.

Click the button below to choose a date and time that works best for your schedule. Once your conversation is booked, you'll receive a confirmation email with everything you need to know.
Tell Me a Little About Your Situation
Before we meet, I'll ask you to complete a short questionnaire. This isn't a test. It's simply an opportunity to tell me about your situation, the questions that are on your mind, and anything you'd like us to focus on during our conversation. You don't need to know the medical language. You don't need to have everything organized. Just tell me your story in your own words.
I'll Prepare
Before we meet, I'll review the information you've shared and gather educational resources that may be helpful based on the topics you'd like to discuss. That way, we can spend our time together focused on what matters most to you.
We Meet
We'll spend approximately one hour together. Bring your questions. Bring a notebook if you'd like. Bring your spouse, partner, family member, or caregiver if that would be helpful. We'll take our time. We'll explore your questions together. And where it helps, I'll often share my screen so we can look at information together rather than simply talking about it.
Continue Learning
After our conversation you'll receive:
- A recording of our conversation.
- A personalized written summary.
- Educational resources we discussed, where appropriate.
More importantly… my hope is that you'll leave with greater confidence than when we began.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Not sure if this conversation is right for you? Read the FAQs below or email me. I am happy to help.
I don't even know what questions to ask.
That's perfectly okay. In fact, it's one of the most common reasons people book a conversation. Helping people identify the questions that matter most is an important part of what we do together.
Can my spouse, family member, or caregiver join?
Absolutely. Many people invite someone close to them to join the conversation. Another set of ears can be incredibly valuable, and those supporting you often have important questions too.
What if I don't have all of my medical records?
Please don't worry. Bring whatever you have. If there are additional documents that may be helpful later, we'll discuss that together.
Will you tell me what treatment I should choose?
No. Treatment decisions should always be made with your licensed healthcare professionals. My role is different. I'm here to help you better understand healthcare information, prepare thoughtful questions, evaluate evidence, and become a more informed participant in conversations with your healthcare team.
Can we discuss molecular testing, biomarkers, precision medicine, clinical trials, or emerging research?
Absolutely. These are common topics during our conversations. I'm happy to discuss publicly available educational information and show you where to find credible resources so you can continue learning with confidence.
What if I become emotional?
Cancer affects every part of life. There is no expectation that you have everything together. This is simply a conversation. We'll begin wherever you are.
When someone asks you how our conversation went…
I hope your answer sounds something like this.
"That was the most helpful conversation I've had since cancer entered our lives. I finally understand what questions to ask. I know where to find trustworthy information. I feel more prepared for my next appointment. And for the first time in a long time… I feel hopeful."
That is why Cancer: Just the Facts exists.
Not to replace your healthcare team. Not to tell you
what to think.
But to help you ask better questions when the
answers matter most.
"Our conversation gave me hope, practical next steps, and the confidence to move forward. I've recommended Michelle to many others because I know how valuable that hour can be."
Ready to Feel More Confident?
You don't need to have everything figured out before we meet. You simply need somewhere to begin. I'd be honoured to spend that hour with you.
